MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY’S CHAPTER OF DELIGHT MINISTRIES HELD AN OPEN WORSHIP NIGHT APRIL 11. GEORGIA BROWN IS ONE OF THE LEADERS AND ENJOYS HER TIME IN THIS MINISTRY.

“I’m Georgia Brown and I am a sophomore here at MTSU. I’ve always had a heart for ministry and for girls and I thought, ‘Why not put the two things together.’ This was just a great opportunity for me to make girls feel welcome on this campus and get involved. This is just geared towards girls, and it’s just a safe place where girls can come once a week and just talk about what’s going on in their life, and it’s just a safe haven, and we can talk about the Lord, and really just everything. So it’s not like a church service where you go and hear a sermon. There are stories that we talk about and a book that we got through and we can also just have fun and have worship nights and just enjoy our time together.”

GEORGIA HAS MANY THINGS SHE ENJOYS ABOUT LEADING DELIGHT. COMMINUTY IS ONE THEM.

“I think the relationships. Relationships are what life is all about for me, so being able to just dive in and get to know these girls literally fills up my heart and that makes it all worth it.”

BECCA LIVELY IS AN MTSU STUDENT WHO ATTENDS DELIGHT EVERY WEEK.

“When I came here I felt lost and I thought reentering my Christian religion would be good for me and connecting with God again. It’s honestly the community we’ve created with the girls, getting to know them, and you know, seeing scripture in a different way through someone else’s perspective can really help me get through something I’ve wondered about, to feel closure about things.”

BECCA HAS ADVICE TO SHARE FOR ANY GIRL WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN DELIGHT.

“If their feeling lost or if they want to reconnect with God or connect with God or community, just to come and enjoy a fun night. No one’s judgmental. You know, it’s just a good night. If they feel alone, and they want community, just come and have fun.”
